Your time is precious. Spend it wisely. A micro-learning app for spare minutes, built as an alternative to doom scrolling.
Challenge
The bus stop, the waiting room, the five minutes before a meeting: those gaps default to a feed that is engineered to keep you there. MindPlayLife started life as a web platform and is being rebuilt as a native mobile app, so the brand, the experience, and the launch page all had to be rethought for a phone in a pocket rather than a browser tab.
Approach
Designed the app around one rule: pick a companion, get one small thing, put the phone down. Each companion is an AI personality with its own voice and specialty, from jokes and riddles to a word of the day and short stories, with items written ahead of time by Anthropic's Claude Haiku from a custom prompt per companion so nobody waits on a live chat. No feed, no streaks, no strangers, no comments. A new petal-and-spark mark, a rainbow signature bar, and a deep indigo ground carry the identity across the app, the launch page, and the sharing cards. A free Ember Pulse account adds a Library, favorites, and stats, and works across the studio's other apps.
Outcome
In development for iOS and Android, with the launch page and sharing cards live and the App Store and Google Play listings to follow. Free to download with a set of companions included; more unlock with one-time purchases, never a subscription.
